ANDstudio Architects announces that Associate Partner Andrea Mannocci will participate in Milan Design Week 2026 as a partner of the event and a featured speaker at the talk to be held on Thursday, April 24, at 5:00 p.m. at Made by Idea, located at Corso Venezia 8, Milan.
The event is part of the Hub161 format, conceived by Raffaella Verri Zorzi, and offers an opportunity for reflection and discussion on some of the central themes of contemporary design practice, exploring the interplay between architecture, design, identity, and design culture.
The talk will be divided into two main sections, reflecting two core principles of ANDstudio Architects’ research and design practice.
The first theme, “Design as Form, Function, and Symbol,” will explore the relationship between object design and architectural design, examining how form—when born from a solid concept—can transform into function, symbol, and identity. This approach spans design, industry, and product culture, outlining an integrated and contemporary vision of design.

In this first section, two emblematic case studies will be examined: the façade of the Nuova Sartoria Giuntini building—Florence Group—and Artemide’s Charlotte lamp. Joining Andrea Mannocci in the discussion will be Sergio Zambelli of Styl-Comp, Nicola Giuntini of Gruppo Florence, and Erich Kroenberg of Artemide, in a conversation that will highlight the relationship between concept, material, formal language, and the symbolic value of the project.
The second part of the talk will focus on the theme “Architecture as a Process of Identity-Building,” exploring architecture as a tool capable of restoring identity to places that have lost it or of creating new identities deeply rooted in their historical, cultural, and landscape contexts.

This segment will unfold through a conversation with designer Gabriela Brunner and will culminate in the closing remarks by architect Andrea Mannocci, who will present two significant projects by the firm: the Podere La Chiesa winery and the renovation of the Italian Ambassador’s Residence in Rabat, Morocco. Two projects that differ in scale, context, and design language, yet are united by a shared vision of design as an act of interpretation, the construction of meaning, and the definition of identity.
More than just a presentation, the talk takes the form of an open conversation across different yet complementary disciplines, experiences, and design visions, offering an in-depth look at the work of ANDstudio Architects and Andrea Mannocci’s ability to move seamlessly between object and space, architecture and design, function and representation, memory and the contemporary.

An event that fits fully within the context of Milan Design Week, reaffirming the studio’s commitment to promoting a design approach capable of bringing together research, industry, material culture, and the transformation of places.
