Riad in Marrakech

The Riad project arises from the encounter between Moroccan tradition and contemporary hospitality. The goal is to reinterpret a historical living model without altering its identity, transforming the spaces into an intimate, refined experience that is deeply connected to the place.

The heart of the project is the central patio, the generating element of the entire layout. Around this bright void, the common spaces, suites, and vertical pathways are organized in a sequence that alternates between openness and intimacy. The patio is not just a distribution space; it becomes the symbolic center of the home: a place for resting, connecting, and contemplation, where water, vegetation, and light create a suspended atmosphere.

Material plays a fundamental role in defining the identity of the Riad. The decorated surfaces, mosaic floors, textured finishes, carved wood, and lanterns evoke the memory of Moroccan architecture, translating it into a contemporary and measured language. Every detail contributes to creating a balance between craftsmanship and design, between decoration and space.

The light is treated as a living material. During the day, it passes through arches, corridors, and openings, casting soft shadows on the walls and floors; in the evening, it is filtered by lanterns, transforming the spaces into warm and welcoming settings. The interior spaces, from the reception to the rooms, maintain this atmospheric continuity, creating a coherent narrative of hospitality, intimacy, and comfort.

The project organizes the Riad on multiple levels: on the ground floor, there is a reception, boutique, salon, kitchen, and the first suites; on the upper floor, the rooms are distributed; on the roof, the terrace becomes an additional living space, with common areas, a solarium, and a swimming pool.

This results in an architecture of listening, capable of enhancing the memory of the place and transforming it into a new experience of living. A Riad conceived not only as an accommodation structure but as a spatial narrative made of light, material, silence, and relationships.
