In the heart of an elegant residential district of Marrakech, an architectural project takes shape, exploring the delicate balance between solidity and lightness. The residence, currently a work in progress, is spread over three levels with a total area of over 1000 square meters, combining essentiality and sobriety in a poetics of measure.

The architecture manifests itself through a play of volumes that distinguishes the ground floor from the first floor, establishing a formal grammar in which verticality and horizontality interact in a controlled tension. The massive, textured terrazzo base contrasts with the ochre plaster surface, reinterpreting vernacular identity with contemporary sensitivity. The spatial distribution follows a logic of flows and spatial hierarchies that favor domestic intimacy without sacrificing visual permeability with the exterior.

On the ground floor, conceived as a spatial continuum, the living room serves as the perceptual focal point of the entire structure, articulating a sequence of perspectival alignments that dissolve the boundary between indoors and outdoors. An angular opening dematerializes physical limits, creating an immersive living experience where the bioclimatic pergola acts not only as sun protection but as an intermediate threshold that expands the connection with the surrounding environment.

The outdoor spaces unfold in a choreography of solids and voids, thresholds, and shelters: the parking area shaded by a pergola, the pool framed by a wall that ensures privacy, and the sunken lounge with a central fire pit orchestrate a dynamic relationship between built space and landscape. The basement stands out for its refined light capture strategy, thanks to two English courtyards that structure the organization of the spaces. Here, the gym, the wellness area with hammam and massage room, and a second guest bedroom with a private terrace alternate with technical and service spaces, with a calibrated distribution between discretion and continuity.

On the first floor, the domestic dimension takes on a more intimate character, reserved exclusively for the family. The bedrooms, including a master suite opening onto a generously sized terrace, are shielded from light through canopies and shutters, suggesting an architecture of thresholds where the boundary between openness and shelter is managed with precision and environmental sensitivity.

This project represents an operation of synthesis between rootedness and lightness, between tradition and innovation, offering a vision of living where dialogue with the context translates into a measured and sophisticated architectural language.
