Year

2023 - 2024

Location

Peccioli

Giuntini new tailoring

The project involves the expansion of the production area of the Peccioli headquarters which follows the work already carried out by the Product Office and the Models laboratory.

The construction of a new building is underway, which will include the new tailor's shop, offices for around 20 employees and a large multifunctional space, as well as a large roof terrace overlooking the landscape of the Peccioli hills. The objective of the project is to improve the production functionality of the company, placing the physical and psychological well-being of those who live there at the center of the new work spaces and contributing to the redevelopment of the industrial area of the municipality of Peccioli. The architectural concept is expressed in the creation of a new building that is positioned between the two existing blocks and provides a system of connections that will improve the functional connections between the different work departments. Giuntini's new entrance will open onto an open air patio which from the main entrance will see the new tailor's shop in transparency, the central heart of the project, and an element of recognition of the intervention. The first floor will instead be used as an executive space which will be delimited only by windows to encourage greater connection with the external environment, thus improving the quality of the workplace. The second floor will be reserved for a large flexible space to host meeting rooms and conference rooms, and where it will be possible to organize artistic events, fashion shows and conferences.

The new construction will be built as a shell that fits between the two existing buildings. At a design level it was thought of as a reverse zigurat, that is, with a shape that widens at the top floor compared to the base, the top floor is in fact the characteristic architectural element of the project. A volume created with a perforated concrete façade inspired by the theme of fabric which is one of the production themes of Giuntini Spa; a facade that becomes a "floating, massive but also light" element; at night this part of the project will be illuminated and will look like a lantern, a reference element in the surrounding plain. This structure will be built with the same construction technique that was used to build the Italian pavilion at the Dubai Expo. The entire garden part will be redesigned and the existing buildings will also be redeveloped to create a property that is not alien to the surrounding countryside, particularly rich in vegetation; Giuntini Spa requested a project that integrates into the surrounding environment in a correct and enhancing way. The internal patio will have a bioclimatic function and the garden on the rear side around the tailor's shop will have the function of a recreational space, to create a pleasant and socializing environment.
