Extension of private villa

The intervention on the building stems from the desire to expand and redefine the living space without altering the identity of the existing architecture, establishing a measured and conscious dialogue with it. The project takes the form of a contemporary, clearly recognizable addition that leans against the traditional masonry house without mimicry, but also without formal constraints. The new glazed volume is a light, transparent structure that directly connects the interior spaces with the garden and the surrounding landscape.

From a compositional point of view, the intervention works on the theme of boundaries: the historic façade becomes a backdrop, while the extension acts as a space of mediation between interior and exterior. The window system punctuates the façade with a regular, almost architectural rhythm, restoring order and proportion to the transparent envelope. The choice of an exposed metal structure reduces the visual impact, allowing light and greenery to define the perception of space.

Inside, the space unfolds as a large continuous area, designed to accommodate living and socializing functions. The wooden ceiling, designed with an articulated geometric pattern, introduces a material and domestic dimension, balancing the transparency of the glass surfaces. The fireplace becomes a central element in the organization of the space, a focal point around which the different areas of use are arranged.

The intervention is not limited to adding surface area, but redefines the way the house is lived in, transforming the extension into a bright and permeable passageway. A place where architecture, landscape, and everyday life intertwine, giving the building a new centrality and a deeper relationship with its natural context.
