We want to share with you a news that fills our studio with pride. On July 12th, we had the honor of receiving the prestigious City'scape Award in the Energy Landscape category during a ceremony held at the Triennale di Milano.
The project that earned us this recognition is the Piombino Waterfront. We worked hard to create an intervention that not only improved the port's aesthetics but also served as an example of sustainability and energy efficiency. The award's motivation was particularly gratifying for us: "An intervention that aims to give a new identity to the Piombino waterfront, making it more efficient and functional through the improvement of landscape quality, accompanied by the implementation of innovative systems for reducing energy consumption."
This project was born out of our passion for integrating architecture with nature and our belief that sustainability should be at the heart of every urban intervention. The port of Piombino represents a unique challenge and opportunity: revitalizing an area with great potential for both residents and visitors, while respecting and enhancing the surrounding environment. We introduced a series of innovative solutions for reducing energy consumption, such as the installation of solar panels and smart energy management systems. At the same time, we committed to improving the waterfront's landscape quality by creating spaces and pedestrian paths that invite people to live and enjoy this space, encouraging them to stay rather than just pass through. Receiving the City'scape Award is an important recognition that honors not only our work but also our vision for a more sustainable and landscape-integrated architecture. This success motivates us to continue on this path and to strive even more to realize projects that combine beauty, functionality, and respect for the environment. We want to thank the entire Andstudio Architects team, the Northern Tyrrhenian Port Authority with whom the project was developed, our partners, and collaborators without whom none of this would be possible.
Thank you all!
